In an unprecedented industry-wide move, the cable industry has pledged to an online code of conduct to provide parental controls, education about online safety and digital media literacy, and to provide assistance to law enforcement to stop online threats and predation. As a leading provider of high-speed Internet services, the cable industry is fully committed to helping parents, families, and all of our customers and viewers create a better, safer online environment and to fostering media literacy in the digital world.

Cable puts you in control

Cable puts parents in control through its digital set-top boxes that have built-in program and network blocking capabilities. Parental controls are easy to set making it easy to block unsuitable programming! It’s password protected, too, so your computer savvy kids won’t be able to break the code while the babysitter isn’t looking. The initiative and its website also include information about suitable programming for children and media literacy.
